News Release October 10, 2005 Advanced Wireless, Inc. (AWI) to donate WLAN equipment to local schools Advanced Wireless, Inc. (AWI) headquartered in Milwaukee, WI, has announced its Wireless School Initiative. Under this program, AWI will donate at least one wireless LAN (WLAN) solution complete with installation and support services to a local school per year.
Darryl D. Morin, AWI President and CEO stated, “A successful education program requires more than just a commitment from our educators, it requires a commitment from our families, our government, and from the companies in our community. The global economy is becoming ever more competitive and the level of education around the globe is rising significantly. To secure our children’s economic future, it is incumbent upon all of us to provide them with the best education possible. Education drives innovation and innovation drives job growth and economic security. For this reason, AWI is proud to announce our Wireless School Initiative. AWI will donate an 802.11a/b/g WLAN to at least one local school per year. This program will expose children to the tremendous benefits of wireless LAN and mobile computing technologies. It will also make it possible for schools that recently had to share one or two computers per classroom to have mobile computer labs. A mobile computer lab consists of multiple wireless laptops that can be carted from classroom to classroom, allowing all children in the class to actively participate in online curriculum. AWI is proud to be able to provide this level of assistance to our community.”
